Author Meeting with Jette Dige Rokos

On August 17, Jette Dige Rokos publishes the novel "Like a Seagull" - a standalone continuation of her debut about Edith, who grew up in Himmerland. In the new book, Edith has moved to Lindholm to start over. The year is 1970.

The novel is realistic and character-driven, exploring women's lives, identity, and choices in the 1970s and 1980s. Edith is a single mother of three who, after a divorce, tries to find her footing during a time of social change and new opportunities. When she moves in with Uffe, the choices she makes have major consequences for her future. The character is based on interviews with the author's mother and thorough research into the period.

At the meeting, Jette Dige Rokos talks about the novel, what inspired her to write the continuation, and her writing process - and along the way she reads selected passages aloud.
