Lecture: Small farms in a modern landscape
took place · 25 Aug 2026
Description was written before the event
Marie Junker Boesen discusses the role of small farms in the modern agricultural landscape - can they be part of the answer to agriculture's many challenges? The starting point is not nostalgia, but a concrete assessment of small farms as active players in today's society.
The lecture covers how small farms can contribute to local food production and food security, strengthen communities in rural areas, and create greater economic resilience for farmers. It also examines how small farms can produce food in better harmony with nature and revive a seasonal food culture.
Afterwards there will be time for questions and discussion. The lecture takes place in the hall at Åby Library.
