Author Talk with Karsten Skov
Biblioteket Nordborg, Nordborg
Karsten Skov presents his novel "Ammi: A Fate Story from the Borderland", which sheds light on an overlooked chapter of South Jutland's history during World War I.
The novel follows the women who kept the farms running while men fought for the German emperor. The protagonist Ammi from Nordals struggles with daily life in a time filled with longing and difficult choices - until a Russian prisoner of war arrives as a farmhand, and a forbidden love emerges across battle lines and prejudice. Karsten Skov discusses the historical background and his work in transforming real events and fates into literature.
He also touches on his participation in the SPOR project - Literary Sound Walks. The sound walk "Bertha's Book" starts at Nordborg Pier, and he explains how an old book found in an antiquarian bookshop inspired the short story that now forms the basis for the sound walk.
The event takes place at Biblioteket Nordborg, Løjtertoft 7, 6430 Nordborg.
