Artist duo Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas place a giant octopus on the facade of Husum Library - a pop-up installation that uses humour to highlight the threatened life of the ocean. The installation is free to view for 3 hours and can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. Come and go as you please.

Octopus Attack is part of Copenhagen Street Theatre Festival, running from 23-30 August 2026 and visiting Husum, Nørrebro, Sydhavn, Valby and Ørestad. The festival is free and welcomes children and their adults. It is part of DIG - Denmark's International Street Theatre Festivals.

About the venue: Husum Bibliotek

Husum Library sits on the first floor above the Føtex supermarket on Frederikssundsvej in Brønshøj, and is part of the Copenhagen municipal library network under Kultur Nord. Small in size, it offers book displays, reading clubs and volunteer-run services such as homework help, a chat club and everyday advice. Public computers, printing and study spaces are also available.

About: Filthy Luker

Luke Egan and Pete Hamilton, working as Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas, have spent three decades filling city streets with inflatable monsters, giant eyeballs and tentacles crawling out of buildings. Their company Designs in Air has delivered hundreds of commissioned and unsolicited installations - from street interventions in Manchester to appearances at the Balloon Museum in Miami and Los Angeles.

Filthy Lukers Giant Tentacles was part of Balloon Museum's touring exhibition, which in 2025 visited Austin, San Francisco, Paris (Grand Palais) and Singapore.
