W. G. Sebald (1944-2001) is regarded as one of the most important writers of recent times. His enigmatic narratives about history's forgotten victims - rooted in childhood memories from southern Germany and World War II - have captivated readers worldwide and left a clear mark on writers, musicians, filmmakers, and visual artists.

On 25 November, Sebald translator Kasper Green Munk visits Højbjerg Library to discuss the author's work and works such as Austerlitz, The Rings of Saturn, The Emigrants, and After Nature.

About the venue: Højbjerg Bibliotek

Højbjerg Bibliotek on Oddervej serves the Højbjerg, Holme and Skåde neighbourhoods, with catchment areas extending to Beder, Malling and Mårslet. The two-storey building houses adult collections and citizen services on the ground floor, while the first floor holds the children's library, newspapers, periodicals and study spaces. Regular events for children and adults run throughout the year, alongside rotating art exhibitions. From 2027, a new cultural centre called LYS1 is planned to replace the current library.
