Anna Hansen & The High

Thursday, August 20, Drop Inn presents a double concert featuring Anna Hansen and The High - two bands rooted in Americana, country-pop, and melodic singer-songwriter music.

Anna Hansen is an Icelandic singer and songwriter based in Denmark. She is currently promoting the single "Just Another Day With You", the first taste of an upcoming EP, and performs this evening with a full band: Anders Bo Jespersen (guitar), Rasmus Todbjerg Larsen (bass), Peder Bæk Kristensen (guitar & pedal steel), Morten Hellborn (drums), and Ditte Marie (backing vocals). She has years of experience as a backing vocalist for acts including Aqua, and has participated in several songwriting residencies in Nashville.

The High plays newly composed Americana, country, and pop inspired by artists such as Tom Petty and John Mayer. Five of the band's members played together in the 1990s as part of the funk band Natural High, and frontman HC returned from a year in Greenland with new music in his suitcase. Together with producer Rasmus Todbjerg, the band has developed its own sound. The band consists of HC (vocals & guitar), Klaus Rasmussen (vocals & guitar), Jesper Kristoffersen (drums), Simon Grønning (bass), Søren Valsø (guitar), Peder Kristensen (slide guitar & pedal steel), and Christoffer Jespersen (keys).
