When Books Are Banned - We Show The Librarians

In 2021, the so-called Krause List - containing 850 titles about race and LGBTQIA+ - triggered a wave of book bans in Texas that has since spread across the USA. The film "The Librarians" follows librarians who refuse to back down, and who despite harassment, threats, and legislation targeting their work continue the fight for free access to knowledge and the right to read.

The film runs approximately 90 minutes. Afterwards, the library offers sandwiches and a discussion about the film.

The event is free and open to all, but is not recommended for children under 7 years. Tickets are obtained via the library's website - registration deadline is Thursday, October 1st. Venue: Lysningen.
