Bag Bogen Live: Jesper Wung-Sung

Jesper Wung-Sung is known for drawing on reality - his own family history or historical figures. His current novel, Sandøs rose, is different: it is entirely fictional and tells the story of an already fictional character. Annemari is the supporting character whom the schoolteacher Johannes admires in Martin A. Hansen's classic The Liar.

How does a fictional supporting character from a book written over 75 years ago become flesh and blood for the reader? And why take an interest in Annemari's side of such a canonized literary affair in the first place?
