Philosophy: Sacrificing Oneself for Truth — Albertslund Bibliotek, Albertslund

Western intellectual history begins with Socrates, who chose death rather than compromise his pursuit of truth - while simultaneously maintaining that nothing can be known with certainty. This paradox forms the starting point for this lecture.

Philosopher Kresten Lundsgaard-Leth explores how idealism, willingness to sacrifice, and doubt can coexist, and what the ancient Greek philosopher can teach us about navigating a world marked by crises. Kresten Lundsgaard-Leth works with philosophy as a teacher, editor, and special advisor to the Danish Ethics Council.
