Concert: Virak

Virak brings folk music from Bulgaria and Macedonia to Galgebakkens Beboerhus, performed on clarinet, harmonica, transverse flute, double bass, and percussion. The music centres on asymmetrical time signatures and melodies that stick with you.

Throughout the concert, the band explains the distinctive rhythms and scales that characterize the music. The second half is devoted to traditional circle dances - including 'Daichovo' and 'Pravo' - where the audience can participate with instruction.
