Octopus Attack (GB)
Ørestad Bibliotek, Copenhagen · free entry
Copenhagen Street Theatre Festival brings a free day of street theatre, workshops and concerts to Ørestad on 30 August, 11:00-16:00. The Yellow Square becomes the stage for performances, creative activities and the Octopus Attack installation.
Artist duo Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrella have created a pop-up installation featuring a giant octopus climbing up building facades and stretching its arms into the urban space. Using humour and surprise, the installation draws attention to endangered marine life and welcomes everyone - children and adults alike - throughout the day.
The programme includes street theatre performances (Fiers Á Cheval, La Baronnade), a concert by Tormod Tegner's Horse Band, stilt-walking workshops, and a creative workshop where you can make your own hobby horse. The event is part of Copenhagen Street Theatre Festival (23-30 August 2026), which visits five neighbourhoods across the city and is free for children and their guardians.
