Festens Gave by Teater Katu v./ Bendo Schmidt

A traditional story from the circumpolar Arctic - Inuit Nunaat - about how the Inuit people received the holy gift of drum dancing and singing.

Festens Gave explores Inuit worldviews, beliefs, and the highly developed art of storytelling and performance. The production traces the origins of Inuit drum dance rhythm through the journey of three characters - Nanoq, Nuka, and Ukaliatsiaq - who prepare themselves through play and exercises for their further development in life.
