Skrå Creators Sharing - Create with Your Hands and Find Peace in Your Mind
Skrå coworking og atelier, Frederiksberg
Skrå Creators Sharing: Create with Your Hands and Find Peace in Your Mind. What does it actually feel like when your hands get to work and your mind finally follows along? For this edition of Creators Sharing, Skrå Coworking and Studio invites you to an afternoon where art, textile, and craft psychology meet. Through inspiring talks and a beginner-friendly workshop, we explore how creative processes can create calm, presence, and mental wellbeing, and why handwork is experiencing a new relevance right now. It's not about perfect stitches or flawless patchwork blankets - it's about the process and creating with your hands. It's about immersing yourself and experiencing that special kind of flow where time disappears and your thoughts settle.
On the programme: Three creative practitioners from Skrå Studio share their practice and perspectives on how textile, art, and craft can function as both artistic method and mental pause. You'll meet: Jill, who takes us into the art project Shadow Women, where handwork becomes a conceptual artistic language rooted in personal and family stories. Felicia, who explores textile history and shows how quilting and patchwork connect people across generations and cultures, and why craft remains relevant in contemporary art practice. Nina, who introduces craft psychology and offers concrete insights into why creative processes affect our mental health, reduce stress, and make it easier to find flow.
Workshop: After the talks, theory becomes practice, and you'll have the chance to try simple textile techniques like English Paper Piecing and wrapping experiments. The workshop requires no experience, and all materials are included. You're welcome to bring fabric and yarn scraps of your own. You'll leave with new knowledge, concrete creative tools, and hopefully the feeling that sometimes it's enough just to create without having to perform.
