UnScene Showcase with Jon Brændsgaard Toft & Chris Ilkjaer

The UnScene Artist association presents a showcase featuring two singer-songwriters on Scene 7.

Jon Brændsgaard Toft takes listeners on a musical journey with his guitar, blending his background as a drummer with intricate rhythms and unconventional time signatures. Since launching as a solo artist in 2023, he has released three albums of original songs that range from quirky narratives about neighborhood cats to reflections on artificial intelligence and his autism diagnosis. His lyrics are vivid yet relatable, and his drumming sensibility shines through even on guitar.

Chris Ilkjaer, known since 2010 under the pseudonym Chris D. Wildcat (7 albums and 1 EP), invites the audience into an intimate space where love and pain intertwine. Drawing on his teenage years, the evening explores the theme HSC - a new song premiering at this event. His country-tinged guitar work carries a bittersweet tone, yet the atmosphere remains uplifting with plenty of room for the audience to sing along. For Chris, authenticity matters more than complexity.
