Brahms Requiem — Sankt Lukas Kirke, Aarhus

Brahms - Ein Deutsches Requiem. Brahms' immortal Requiem in a version for choir, soloists and piano - a work that breaks free from the Catholic mass liturgy and speaks to the bereaved, the anxious, the grieving. As the first movement opens: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted". It is an intimate and personal work that conveys universal human experiences of darkness and hope. Brahms' own arrangement for piano instead of orchestra brings a special intimacy to this timeless music.

Performers: Vokalgruppen Concert Clemens, Sine Bundgaard (soprano), Jens Søndergaard (baritone), Søren Rastogi (baritone), Martin Qvist Hansen (piano), Carsten Seyer-Hansen (piano), conductor.
