A Few Stitches for the Neighbourhood

In the spirit of the Festival, we invite you to a slow collaborative work. Sit at the table, take a needle, and embroider a few stitches on a large shared tablecloth. We'll decorate it with everything that belongs to a good meal - glasses, forks, lemons, candles, sauce boats, crumbs and small stories sewn between the threads. You don't need to know how to embroider. You just need to want to sit down for a moment, let your hands work and perhaps chat with the person next to you. When we work with our hands, the pace naturally slows down. Within craft psychology, research shows that handwork can create calm, presence and strengthen the sense of community. One stitch at a time. Come by Kulturbodega Bellis. Stay for five minutes or a whole afternoon. The tablecloth grows each time someone sits down.
