LYDHAVEN PRESENTS 'SUSURRUS' BY SOPHIA SAGARADZE On Saturday, September 5 at 4:30 PM, LYDHAVEN invites you to the sound installation 'Susurrus' and live performance at Claudes Planteskole. This site-specific work is created and performed by Georgian sound artist and composer Sophia Sagaradze, who reveals the sonic life of the greenhouse.
About the work: "Every environment has a sonic interior, invisible to ordinary perception. The installation makes the greenhouse's inner life audible - with its own rhythm and its own voice - and suggests that what we call silence is never truly silence. Here we begin to listen more closely to what is already happening inside the greenhouse. In the greenhouse's quiet interior, Sophia Sagaradze creates a listening space where plants and greenhouse materials become the primary sound material. She has collected and recorded sounds from the greenhouses and their plants, and composed a new work from these recordings. Through six channels distributed throughout the room, the processed compositions unfold spatially: sound moves, overlaps, and recedes. During the live performance, Sagaradze enters the installation and works with the material in real time. She shapes its movement and density through improvisation. The boundary between recorded and live, between natural and processed, dissolves. The greenhouse becomes both an instrument and a room."
