Joseph Alessi is an American trombonist who has served as principal trombone of the New York Philharmonic since 1985. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential trombonists of his generation and also teaches at The Juilliard School in New York.

Ian Bousfield is a British trombonist, born in 1964, who served for many years as principal trombone of the Vienna Philharmonic. Christian Lindberg is a Swedish trombonist and conductor widely regarded as one of the most influential soloists on his instrument in recent decades. One of the Danish Armed Forces' three full-time professional music corps, founded in 1766 and now based at Skive Kaserne under the Air Force.
