Ragtime and Stories from the Roaring Twenties

Boghandleren Godthåbsvej invites you to an evening of ragtime and stories from Frederiksberg during the First World War. Asta and her pianist play for dancing and entertainment, while we open a window to Frederiksberg in the 1910s and 1920s.

Professor Poul Duedahl, author of the acclaimed book "Minute Millionaires, Goulash Barons, Stock Sharks and Champagne Girls", shares stories from an era of quick fortunes and sure routes to wealth. Much of the goulash barons' and minute millionaires' wealth - earned through supplies to the front and stock speculation - ended up in houses, apartments and champagne fountains on Frederiksberg.

The event takes place on 21 September at Metronomen on Godthåbsvej. Books and champagne can be purchased during the evening.
