Poetry Slam KBH Championship, Qualification Round 1
Poetry slam competition featuring spoken word performances, humor and thought-provoking content. Hosted by Peter Dyreborg with Swedish feature artist Anna Arvidsdotter.
Anna Arvidsdotter (b. 1992) is a Swedish poet and writer based in Malmö, trained at the Författarskolan in Lund. Her 2022 debut collection *Händer att hålla i* (Lil'lit förlag) draws on her years as a postal worker in Malmö to explore class, precarious labour and late capitalism. Before the book came out she was already a fixture on the spoken word circuit as part of the Malmö collective Ord på scen, and critics have compared her to Swedish working-class literary figures such as Stig Sjödin and Jenny Wrangborg. She also works as an editor and writing teacher.
Anna Arvidsdotter published in September 2024 the anthology *Ett brev från många* (Föreningen Arbetarskrivare) as co-editor together with Marie Hållander; the book was launched at Bokmässan in Göteborg.
Arvidsdotter contributed in 2024 to the poetic anthology *En viktlös skärva av tid i Gaza* (Aska förlag) in support of Palestine.
Her poems are included in the Nordic anthology *Hej stor ildfugl - Nordens Allerbedste Pensumløse Poesi 2022* (Ordskælv Forlag, 2024), which collects prominent Nordic spoken word poetry.
Arvidsdotter received in 2022 the literary residency AIRY Västernorrland with the justification that she with lyrical playfulness and stylistic confidence pierces phenomena on a contemporary capitalist labor market.
