Aura Noir is a Norwegian black/thrash metal band from Oslo, formed in 1993 by Aggressor (Carl-Michael Eide) and Apollyon. Their debut *Black Thrash Attack* (1996) established them as a key act in the international underground, fusing black metal rawness with old-school thrash in the vein of Slayer and Kreator. The lineup expanded when Blasphemer of Mayhem joined, and guests over the years have included Fenriz of Darkthrone. Their most recent album is *Aura Noire* (2018).
Aura Noir performed at the final edition of Chaos Descends Festival in Crispendorf, Germany, with a complete set based on the debut album *Black Thrash Attack*.
The band performed at Hellfest 2026 in Clisson, France, on the festival's Temple stage on June 20.
