Backseat is a Danish pop rock band formed in 1992 by singer Ivan Pedersen, originally under the name Backseat Boys before being shortened to Backseat in 1995. The lineup around Pedersen's distinctive vocals has changed several times over the years, yet the band has kept its rock- and blues-inspired sound rooted in americana and roots music. Backseat won a Danish Grammy for Album of the Year in 1996, and its most recent studio album, "Seasoned & Served" (2013), reached number 8 on the Danish albums chart.
In spring 2026, Backseat's lead singer Ivan Pedersen was on a national tour with "Denmark's Second-Best Trio" on the occasion of his 60-year anniversary as a professional, touring musician.
Backseat has a concert confirmed for April 2, 2027 in Guldsalen at Borgerforeningen in Svendborg.
