Baiba Skride is a Latvian violinist born in Riga in 1981 who won the ARD International Music Competition in Munich in 2001 and has since performed as a soloist with major orchestras worldwide. Her repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary music, and she works regularly with conductors such as Paavo Järvi and Andris Nelsons.
