Bévort 3 is the acoustic jazz trio led by Danish saxophonist and composer Pernille Bévort, one of the most distinctive voices on the Danish jazz scene since the mid-1990s. Rounded out by bassist Morten Ankarfeldt and drummer Espen Laub von Lillienskjold, the trio plays without a chordal instrument, moving through a lyrical, Nordic soundscape of swing, blues and reflective mood. In 2022 and 2023 the group was named Band of the Year at the Danish Music Awards Jazz, and Bévort herself has received honours including the Ben Webster Prize.
Bévort 3 released in January 2026 the album 'A Cup of Joe', a tribute to saxophonist Joe Henderson consisting of eight original pieces.
Pernille Bévort was honored on 4 September 2024 with an honorary award from the composers' association Autor for her creative work as a jazz composer.
The trio's fourth album 'Northbound' was released on 9 February 2024 and received five-star reviews in several Danish and foreign media outlets.
On 21 November 2023, Pernille Bévort received an honor from the Danish Conductors' Association in recognition of her work.
Bévort 3 was named Orchestra of the Year in December 2022 at the Danish Music Awards Jazz.
