About

Bill Frisell (born 1951) is an American guitarist, composer and arranger who has ranked among the leading jazz guitarists since the late 1980s. He first made his name on ECM Records, then became a fixture of the New York downtown scene, with a long partnership with John Zorn. His soft, floating tone and his mix of jazz, folk, country and Americana are instantly recognisable. In February 2026 he released In My Dreams on Blue Note, as part of his 75th-birthday celebrations.
