About

Black Doldrums are a London post-punk trio formed in 2016 by Kevin Gibbard (guitar/vocals) and Sophie Landers (drums/vocals), later expanded with a bassist. Their sound draws on 80s gothic post-punk, darkwave and synth-pop, drawing comparisons to Joy Division, The Cure and Bauhaus. The third album Repetition Compulsion (November 2026, Fuzz Club Records) closes their 'State of Mind Trilogy', a three-album arc that began with Dead Awake (2022) and continued with In Limerence (2024). The band has toured extensively across the UK and Europe, including a 2025 support slot on Archive's European arena tour.
