About

Carl Ulrik Munk-Andersen (born 18 October 1960) is a Danish pianist, organist, arranger, conductor and composer. He graduated with a church music diploma from the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus in 1987 and has served as organist and choir director at Taarbæk Kirke in Klampenborg since 1992. Alongside his church duties he has built a wide-ranging career as accompanist to leading Danish soloists - including Kurt Ravn, Per Nielsen and Stig Rossen - and for a number of years was also a pianist in the DR Entertainment Orchestra. He has additionally worked as musical director on theatre productions and has composed and arranged music for radio, television, theatre and film.

    Carl Ulrik Munk-Andersen performed as a regular pianist at Kurt Ravn's Christmas concert tour in December 2025, including at Taarbæk Kirke (22 December), Sct. Catharinæ Kirke in Hjørring (18 December) and Sankt Povls Kirke in Korsør (15 December).

    Munk-Andersen's recording of Bach's Sonata No. 2 in E-flat major BWV 1031 (Siciliano) with Kristian Steenstrup was broadcast on DR P2 on 1 October 2024.

    The trio Kurt Ravn, Carl Ulrik Munk-Andersen and oboist Birgitte Lindum gave a Christmas concert at Sct. Peders Kirke in Randers on 23 November 2025.
