Claudi Arimany, Martin Qvist Hansen & Jonathan Slaatto - Chamber Music Concert
Catalan flutist Claudi Arimany joins Danish pianist Martin Qvist Hansen and cellist Jonathan Slaatto for an evening of classical and early-romantic chamber music.
Claudi Arimany (born 1955 in Granollers, Catalonia) is widely regarded as the direct heir to Jean-Pierre Rampal in both interpretive style and musical philosophy - a verdict Rampal himself endorsed. The two studied together, then became regular concert and recording partners until Rampal's death. Since the 1980s Arimany has appeared as soloist with major orchestras across Europe, the Americas and Asia, and his discography of more than 40 albums includes a landmark 12-CD edition of the complete flute music of the Doppler brothers, released on the Austrian label Capriccio.
Arimany released a 13th volume for his Doppler series on Capriccio with additional works he found in libraries after the original 12-cd edition.
The complete 12-cd edition of the brothers Franz and Carl Doppler's flute works was released on the Austrian label Capriccio - the result of decades of research.
The Austrian flute society (OEFG) published an interview with Arimany about the Doppler project and his views on career opportunities for young flutists.
