Danilo Plessow is a German DJ and producer born around 1985 in Schwäbisch Gmünd, best known under the alias Motor City Drum Ensemble (MCDE). The name is a deliberate double reference: to Stuttgart's identity as Germany's automotive hub and to the soul and techno sounds of Detroit that shaped his musical upbringing. Over more than two decades he has released on upwards of 25 labels, running his own MCDE Recordings and Space Grapes imprints, and built a reputation as one of Europe's most thoughtful selectors - equally at home behind a DJ booth and in the studio.

Plessow presented his new project Rude Futures, which marks a return to electronic forms with a darker sound palette.
MCDE is touring six countries in 2026 with Madrid and Berlin among the next scheduled venues.
