About

David Francey is a Canadian folk singer-songwriter born in Ayrshire, Scotland in 1954, who emigrated with his family to Ontario at age 12. He spent decades working as a carpenter and rail yard labourer, quietly writing songs all the while, and did not begin performing publicly until he was 45. Since his 1999 debut he has released thirteen albums, won four Juno Awards and three Canadian Folk Music Awards, and his songs have been covered by artists including The Del McCoury Band and The Rankin Family.
