Ecko Bazz is a Ugandan rapper and MC from Kampala who, since his cult debut EP Tuli Banyo (2018) on Hakuna Kulala - the Nyege Nyege Tapes offshoot - has reshaped perceptions of East African rap. Rapping in Luganda over beats that pull from grime, dancehall and US hip-hop, he tackles violence, religion, drug abuse and slum poverty with raw, acrobatic intensity. His debut album Mmaso (2022) brought him wider international recognition, and he has since toured extensively across Europe.
Ecko Bazz released the EP Nsiga Ensigo on September 19, 2025 on Hakuna Kulala, produced by Italian producers STILL and Talpah.
Nsiga Ensigo was highlighted as Bandcamp New & Notable in September 2025.
Ecko Bazz was featured on 'Essente!' from British producer ayas' EP Lip Flip, released via YCO-imprinted in February 2024.
Ecko Bazz and producer STILL released a mixtape for Crack Magazine and collaborated on the track Ntabala on STILL's album Kikommando (Pan / Hakuna Kulala).
The debut album Mmaso was released on March 18, 2022 on Hakuna Kulala with beats from Debmaster, Slikback, DJ Die Soon and DJ Scotch Rolex.
