Gloryhammer
Scottish metal band Gloryhammer brings their fantasy-driven heavy metal sound to Amager Bio.
Gloryhammer are a British power metal band founded in 2010 by keyboardist Christopher Bowes, who also fronts the pirate metal act Alestorm. The band's entire output is built around a continuous fantasy-sci-fi saga, with each member performing in costume as a recurring character. Five studio albums on Napalm Records - from the debut 'Tales from the Kingdom of Fife' (2013) to the forthcoming 'Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath' (2026) - have made them one of the most distinctive names in European power metal.
Gloryhammer announced their fifth studio album 'Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath', which will be released on October 16, 2026 via Napalm Records as a direct successor to 'Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards' from 2015.
The band is on a European album release tour with stops in Copenhagen (Amager Bio, October 26), Hamburg, Utrecht and London, among others.
Gloryhammer released the single 'On a Quest for Aberdeen', which continues the story of the character Angus McFife V and his journey to the ruins of Space Dundee.
The band ended 2024 with a surprise single, 'He Has Returned', which builds on the story of the Robot Prince of Auchtertool.
Gloryhammer toured in the USA as support for Alestorm on a 20+ date tour, which included performances at the festivals Louder Than Life and Aftershock.
