Grassolin - Gasolin Covers in Bluegrass Style
Grassolin reimagines Gasolin's classics in bluegrass style with three male voices and violin. A fun and singalong evening bringing a folk twist to Danish rock standards.
Grassolin is a Danish acoustic cover band that has been reimagining Gasolin' classics in folk and bluegrass arrangements since around 2012. The four-piece - Nikolaj Rysager (vocals and guitar), Søren Korshøj (violin and vocals), Michael Engman Torp (double bass and vocals) and Ronni Øhlers Hauptmann (washboard, drums and vocals) - are all seasoned players from Denmark's rock, folk and blues scenes. Drawing inspiration from Hayseed Dixie, they strip Kim Larsen's and Franz Beckerlee's songs back to acoustic instruments and four-part male harmonies. In 2022, marking their tenth anniversary, they released their debut recording: a live CD of nine tracks captured at Krudttønden in Copenhagen.
Grassolin performed at Skagen Festival in July 2025 and closed Thursday evening on the Havnescenen stage at 21:15.
The band played an afterparty at Skråen in Nordkraft, Aalborg, on July 11, 2025.
Grassolin returned to Skagen Festival in 2024 after great success at the festival in 2023.
Grassolin released their first album - a live CD with nine tracks - to mark the band's 10-year anniversary; the recordings are from a concert at Krudttønden in Copenhagen.
