Grommt is a Danish death metal band from the island of Bornholm, formed in 2023. The band plays old-school death metal with thrash elements, drawing clear inspiration from acts like Bolt Thrower, Morbid Angel and Entombed. Their debut album "Aphotic" came out in May 2025, recorded live in the studio to capture a raw, authentic sound. Since then Grommt has played a string of shows on Bornholm, in Copenhagen and around Roskilde, and the lineup has now grown to five members.
Grommt performed at the first edition of the metal festival Klippenhell at Musikhuzet in Rønne, which drew a large audience to the city.
Grommt was confirmed on the poster for the new Bornholm festival Klippenhell together with Baest, Skullclub, Rågafnat, Nedbrud and Sigh.
According to TV2 Bornholm, Grommt expanded to five members in 2026 to achieve a darker and more massive sound, and the band has announced new material.
Heavymetal.dk published a review of the debut album "Aphotic", which pointed to clear inspiration from, among others, Bolt Thrower and Asphyx.
On August 7, 2025, Grommt performed at the venue Råhuset in Copenhagen together with Rektum and Mortira.
