Henning Munk & Plumperne is a Copenhagen-based jazz band led by soprano saxophonist and clarinettist Henning Munk Plum, who has been dubbed 'the Danish Sidney Bechet' in Dresden. The band formed in 2004 at the invitation of the Riverboat Jazz Festival and has since become a regular fixture at festivals across Denmark, Sweden and Germany. Their repertoire draws on New Orleans classics, swing standards and evergreens, played with the kind of infectious drive that fills dance floors. They have released four CDs, the most recent in spring 2015.
