Jeppe Skovbakke is a Danish bassist born in 1977 in Lemvig who moves freely between jazz, rock and pop. Almost entirely self-taught on the double bass, he has toured and recorded with a wide range of Danish and international musicians - from Kurt Rosenwinkel and John Tchicai to Peter Brötzmann and Rhys Chatham. At home he is best known as a core member of I Got You On Tape and the Mikkel Ploug Trio, and as a sideman for artists including Oh Land, Teitur and Steffen Brandt. With more than 50 album releases and awards including the DMA Jazz prize for best crossover release (with Grammofunch, 2009), he ranks among the most sought-after bassists on the Danish scene.

I Got You On Tape, in which Skovbakke is the regular bassist, played selected shows in 2024 and presented potentially new material.
The album 'The Blue Giant' with John Tchicai, Jeppe Skovbakke and Stefan Pasborg was released - a previously unreleased studio session from 2006 recorded in southern France.
I Got You On Tape played three sold-out concerts and released the critically acclaimed album '0' on the record label Escho.
