About

Kalaha are a Copenhagen quartet who came together after an improvised set at STRØM Festival in 2013. Their sound draws on West African funk, Anatolian psych-rock, cumbia, electronic rave and jazz improvisation, producing music that is both dancefloor-ready and genre-defying. They have won the Danish Music Award and the Carl Prize, and have performed at Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Fusion Festival in Germany, Boomtown in the UK and Jarasum in South Korea. Their seventh album 'Guirca' was released in October 2025 on April Records.
