Kandis is a Danish dance-band orchestra from Thy, founded in January 1989 by frontman Johnny Hansen and guitarist Jørgen Hein. The group broke through nationally with the 1992 single "En lille ring af guld" and has since logged up to 200 live shows a year across Denmark. With over 1.5 million albums sold and 56 gold and platinum records, Kandis is the best-selling dansebands act in Danish music history.
Kandis released the album "Kandis 23" in November 2025 - the band's 23rd studio album.
During spring and summer 2025, Kandis released four singles, including "På Skanderborg" on Johnny Hansen's 60th birthday, which became a radio hit.
Kandis started season 36 in 2025 with over 100 events and concerts on the tour schedule.
Kandis is in season 37 in 2026 and tours the country with the new album "Kandis 23".
The Grand Prix hit "Lonnie Fra Berlin" turned 20 years old in 2025 and has achieved cult status with over 7.5 million streams on Spotify.
