Karen Thodberg is a senior researcher in behavioural biology at Aarhus University, specialising in the relationship between humans and dogs. She is the author of *Hunde* in Aarhus University Press's Tænkepauser series, exploring the domestication of dogs and how we can best look after their interests today.
