Lívia Mattos BR
Brazilian harmonica virtuoso Lívia Mattos takes the stage with her trio at Alice.
Lívia Mattos is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and accordion virtuoso from Salvador da Bahia who began her career as a circus performer. She spent eight years in Chico César's band before going solo with the albums "Vinha da Ida" (2017), "Apneia" (2022) and "Verve" (2025), which together form a trilogy. With her trio of accordion, tuba and drums she blends northeastern Brazilian rhythms such as forró with jazz, and in 2026 "Verve" earned her a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Latin Jazz/Jazz Album.
Lívia Mattos was nominated for a Latin Grammy 2026 for the album "Verve" in the best Latin jazz/jazz album category, as the only Brazilian, female, and accordion-playing nominee.
During 2026, she toured in Europe, Africa and South America with performances in, among others, Senegal, Peru, Poland, Belgium, Germany and Austria.
A new international tour is planned for November 2026 with stops in, among others, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy and Portugal.
Lívia Mattos performed with her quartet show "Apneia" at the Festival de Sanfoneiros in Feira de Santana.
The album "Verve" was released in August 2025 and closes the trilogy that began with "Vinha da Ida" (2017) and "Apneia" (2022).
