About

Lotte Anker (born 1958 in Copenhagen) is a saxophonist and composer working at the intersection of experimental jazz, free improvisation and contemporary music. Since the early 1990s she has been a key figure in shifting Danish jazz away from bop conventions toward a more open, exploratory sound. She co-leads the Copenhagen Art Ensemble and has collaborated with musicians including Craig Taborn, Gerald Cleaver, Fred Frith, Sylvie Courvoisier and Ikue Mori.
