Lucy Woodward is an English-American singer-songwriter, born in London in 1977 and raised between Amsterdam and New York. She broke through with the pop hit "Dumb Girls" in 2003, but has since ranged far beyond that world - through jazz, soul and blues, and collaborations with Pink Martini, Snarky Puppy and Charlie Hunter. Her ninth album I Need To Roam (GroundUP Music, 2026), recorded with her longtime European band The Rocketeers, marks her most personal and genre-crossing statement yet.
Lucy Woodward's ninth studio album I Need To Roam was released on August 7, 2026 via GroundUP Music and received positive reviews from, among others, Jazz in Europe.
I Need To Roam was recorded across Rotterdam, Los Angeles, rural Virginia and India with The Rocketeers as the focal point.
Lucy Woodward performed a four-night residency on Jimmy Kimmel Live! from June 8-11, 2026, coinciding with the release of the single "Roam".
The single "Always" (feat. Chris Pierce) was released as the first single from the album I Need To Roam ahead of the album's release.
The live album Lucy Woodward & The Rocketeers was released in summer 2024 on GroundUP Music, recorded with an 18-piece jazz orchestra in Rotterdam.
