Martin Brunbjerg is a Danish double bassist and a member of Kosmos Trio, a piano trio playing original modern jazz in a minimalist, Nordic-inflected sound world. The trio - completed by pianist Frede Holger Thorsen and drummer Jesper Lørup - won JazzDanmark's jazz competition in 2023 and received a nomination for New Jazz Name of the Year at DMA Jazz the same year. Their debut album "Brev til en ven" (April Records, 2022) earned four hearts in Politiken and coverage in international outlets including Jazz Journal UK.
Kosmos Trio releases their second album "...and the Sun" on August 21, 2026 - an album recorded live at The Village Recording in Denmark in March 2025.
Kosmos Trio plays at Musikhuset Dexter in Odense on August 28, 2026.
Kosmos Trio is on the program at Musikhuset Swinger as part of Aarhus Jazz Festival 2026.
The second album "...and the Sun" was recorded live at The Village Recording in Denmark in March 2025 with producer Thomas Vang.
Kosmos Trio won JazzDanmark's jazz competition 2023 and was nominated as the year's new jazz name at DMA Jazz 2023.
