MASTER BOOT RECORD is the solo project of Italian multi-instrumentalist Vittorio D'Amore (aka Victor Love), who has released over fourteen albums since 2016 blending chiptune, heavy metal and classical symphonic music - all synthesized via MIDI. The project began as an anonymous entity creating the soundtrack for the cyberpunk adventure game VirtuaVerse, and has since grown into a fully touring live act on Metal Blade Records. Album titles like INTERNET PROTOCOL, PERSONAL COMPUTER and HARDWAREZ reflect D'Amore's background as an IT consultant and his deep roots in retro computer culture.
MASTER BOOT RECORD released their first live album, REALTIME EXECUTION, on April 9, 2026 as 'name your price' on Bandcamp - 15 tracks recorded at shows in Berlin, London, Toronto and Amsterdam, among others.
MBR announced a North American headliner tour with 65 dates from April to May 2026, including a sold-out show in New York with an additional date added.
MBR performed as support for Igorrr on a European tour, including at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire in London on October 30, 2025.
The album HARDWAREZ was released on October 11, 2024 via Metal Blade Records and debuted at number 3 on Billboard's Current Electronic Albums chart.
HARDWAREZ is the first MBR album featuring real guitar overdubs, recorded by Edoardo Taddei in unison with the synthesized guitar lines.
