Monolord are a Swedish doom metal trio from Gothenburg, formed in 2013 by Thomas V. Jäger (guitar/vocals), Esben Willems (drums) and Mika Häkki (bass). Their sound - slow, fuzz-drenched riffs layered over hypnotic grooves - draws on stoner and sludge metal traditions while remaining distinctly their own. Six albums in, from the 2014 debut "Empress Rising" to 2026's "Neverending", they have built a devoted following across the underground heavy music world.
Monolord released their sixth studio album 'Neverending' on May 29, 2026 via Relapse Records - the band's first new album in five years.
The band announced the album title 'Neverending' and released the single 'You Bastard' as well as dates for a US tour in June 2026.
Monolord completed the recording of the new album with producer Sylvia Massy in Ashland, Oregon - a collaboration the band themselves described as a fantastic experience.
The band announced their first North American tour since 2022 with shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco among others in June 2026.
