Neal Ashley Conrad (b. 1963) is a Danish literary scholar, author and lecturer with a PhD in literary studies from Lund University and a master's degree in Nordic literature from the University of Copenhagen. He is Denmark's best-known Proust specialist and has spent decades writing and lecturing on Marcel Proust, Søren Ulrik Thomsen and Gunnar Ekelöf, as well as Bruce Springsteen and Leonard Cohen. He taught writing at Krogerup Højskole for fifteen years, founded Conrads Skriveskole, and co-edited the major new Danish translation of Proust's novel (Multivers, 2002-2014).
Conrad's book 'Love is a Drop in the Ocean' - a 528-page encyclopedia about Søren Ulrik Thomsen's authorship with 335 entries - was published by Gads Forlag in 2025.
Conrad presented 'Love is a Drop in the Ocean' at Bogforum 2025 in November.
