Randers Police Orchestra
The Randers Police Orchestra plays a free concert at Værket on Halloween night.
Randers Politiorkester is an amateur orchestra made up of musicians from Østjyllands Politi (East Jutland Police) together with civilian members, founded on 13 February 1939. The ensemble plays a wide repertoire ranging from marches and church music to swing and popular tunes, performing concerts and charity events around Randers. It typically gives 15-20 concerts a year, with its long-running Christmas charity concert historically drawing close to 1,000 guests.
After 85 years, the orchestra stops its traditional Christmas concert, and the orchestra instead initiates a new spring charity concert tradition.
The orchestra plays a free foyer concert at the venue Værket in Randers.
The proceeds from the Christmas charity concert were donated to Fit4Kids Randers, which helps socially disadvantaged children and young people.
At the orchestra's 84th annual Christmas charity concert, singer Jette Torp performed as a guest soloist.
