Sebastian - born Knud Torben Grabow Christensen on 19 December 1949 in Sønderborg - is one of the most influential figures in Danish music since the early 1970s. He has sold over 2.5 million records and written music for numerous musicals staged by the theatre company Mastodonterne, ranging from Skatteøen to Pippi. His 1981 album Stjerne til støv is part of the Danish Cultural Canon, and his Brecht adaptations on Tiderne skifter (1979) are considered landmarks in Danish rock history.
