Shu-bi-dua were a Danish pop and rock band founded in Copenhagen in 1973 by Michael Bundesen and Michael Hardinger, later expanding to a larger lineup. Known for witty, satirical lyrics set to melodies ranging from rock to folk, they became Denmark's best-selling band with over six million albums sold. Lead singer Bundesen suffered a stroke in 2011, effectively ending the group; he died in 2020. Three original members - Hardinger, Jørgen Thorup and Kim Daugaard - now perform as Shu-bi-dua 2.0.
Danmarks Underholdningsorkester announced a 12-concert nationwide tour from January 2026, celebrating Shu-bi-dua with three original members on stage.
Shu-bi-dua 2.0 is touring Denmark from April to November 2026 with stops in, among others, Faaborg, Greve, Svendborg, Nykøbing F and Middelfart.
Shu-bi-dua 2.0 completed a spring tour in 2025, where the album Shu-bi-dua 4 from 1977 was played in its entirety followed by greatest hits.
Royal Arena held the tribute show "Royal Arena celebrates Shu-bi-dua" on February 3, 2024 to mark the 50th anniversary of the band's first album.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the first album, Michael Hardinger, Kim Daugaard and Jørgen Thorup started Shu-bi-dua 2.0, which gave a "Shu-bi-dua jubilee concert" on Plænen in Tivoli in autumn 2023.
