Jonah Blacksmith
The seven-piece ensemble Jonah Blacksmith from Thy presents their acclaimed film concert in arena format, where live music meets a documentary about people, dreams, and community.
Simon Alstrup is the singer and guitarist of Danish folk-rock band Jonah Blacksmith, which he formed in 2011 with his brother Thomas in their hometown of Hurup, in the Thy region. The band takes its name from the brothers' grandfather, blacksmith Johannes Alstrup from Koldby, and has topped Danish airplay charts with songs such as "House on Fire" and "Up", selling out venues including Royal Arena and Jyske Bank Boxen. In October 2025 the group released its fourth studio album, "Ages", following a five-year gap.
Jonah Blacksmith released the album 'Ages', the band's first album in five years and the fourth since their debut.
The band's album tour in connection with 'Ages' was played for a completely sold-out audience.
Jonah Blacksmith went on an intimate record store tour with concerts at three venues in one day on the occasion of Record Store Day.
GAFFA gave the album 'Ages' four stars and praised the band's ability to write genuine and human songs.
In the summer of 2026, the band plays a series of selected festivals with both new material from 'Ages' and older hits.
